a serendipitous journey

My story

My entry point to the olive oil world was the Institute of Food and Beverage Innovation at Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), where I trained to become a professional olive oil taster (Sensorik-Lizenz Olivenöl),  and then joined the Swiss Olive Oil Panel (SOP).  In addition, I’m a certified olive oil sommelier and took a course on nutritional science at Stanford University. I was amazed with the beneficial properties of the unsaturated fats and the phytochemicals contained in olive oil.

So, after having worked for 17 years in the financial services sector, in Argentina (my home country), United States, Italy, Brazil and Switzerland, I gave up the office life to dedicate myself to my true passion: hospitality and olive oil.

During this journey, I had the opportunity to meet Vassilakis Estate in Crete, a family owned mill for five generations. They showed me how they produce olive oil from the grove to the bottle. Their olive oils are the products I'm presenting to you in my online shop.
